craft lockdown 2009

So last week, Shelley pulled herself away from her Truman Show life in Nashville, and came out to So Cal for a visit. She had not yet seen the fully completed Del Schner, nor had she enjoyed the new, recently free-decorranged guest room. Stay tuned for a post on that later - maybe.

We had planned a week of child-free shopping and a visit to LA for more shopping, as well as some celeb-stalking at the Inglorius Basterds premiere (Sorry, Brangelina, we just weren't in the mood). Craft Lockdown 2009 was by no means planned. It just came to be. All of the stars were aligned, and conditions were perfect. Keith and Neil just happened to be in Seattle, and Karly just happened to be on break from school. After Shelley's arrival, I took her on the Del Mar/Solana Beach Trail of Shopping Terror. (New neighborhood, new shopportunities)! Lots of fun and inspiration abound, but very little purchasing.

Creatively inspired, we picked up Karly and 13 boxes of her paper crafting/painting/stamping supplies, stopped for a few more supplies, and took out all of my craft junk. Wearing jammies and skipping showers or any real hygiene at all, we turned Del Schner into Craft Lockdown 2009. For 72 hours, we ventured out only to get a meal or more supplies at Michaels. Shelley and Karly created crazy-fabulous goodies! I can't show photos, as that might ruin a few Christmas gift surprises. I created some tragic greeting cards. Oh, well - at least you'll get good gifts - from Karly & Shelley!
